ConsultingI was extremely fortunate to intern at an energy consulting firm over the summer because my boss knew almost everything about the energy industry. He knew that I was an aspiring consultant, so he constantly pushed me to be my best; he made me present ideas to clients, create proposal booklets, and sell energy projects. This experience opened my eyes to consulting, and furthered my interest in understanding how people think. My boss taught me a lot, and I hope to further my skills and knowledge in consulting.

SalesMy passion for sales started selling Hawaiian activities to tourists as a street salesman. My mother is a successful insurance agent, so I was confident that I'd easily make a lot of money. But, I quickly realized that commission based sales were hard; each paycheck varied by hundreds of dollars, and sometimes were zero. This was disappointing, but my mother always reassured me to persevere and never let a bad day influence my future. This experience helped me grow; I have become a powerful communicator, optimistic thinker, and confident salesman.

MarketingUnderstanding how people make decisions fascinates me. Marketers try to figure out why consumers make decisions based on very detailed data that sometimes seems irrelevant. I worked at Amazon for one and a half years and took part in a national training program. Amazon taught me marketing techniques to improve my skills and abilities. I learned about social media marketing, product differentiation, how to approach strangers, and other marketing techniques. This sparked my interest; I realized that each person, business, and product has a brand, and we must constantly work on improving it.
